EVOLUTION BREATHWORK
Since I was a child, and like so many others, I have always had a very strong connection to the natural world. Spending the happiest part of my childhood running wild with my sister and friends, climbing trees, making dens in the woods, snorkelling and diving for shells and generally just having adventures immersed in Mother Nature...
When I did my potential officers course for the Royal Marines at 18 I was told to gain the skills I was missing in public speaking etc whilst getting myself a degree. I took this advice and studied Ecology and Biodiversity at university to try to understand in greater detail the relationships between all living organisms with each other and this planet that we call home. I have been fortunate over the intervening years to travel to some of the most incredible environments on the planet to experience the awe inspiring wonder of Mother Nature in all of her glory…
From the Coral reefs of the Maldives, Red Sea, and Great Barrier reef to the Jungles of Burma and the mighty Amazon…
From the top of Mauna Loa, the most massive mountain in the world, to the foot of Angel Falls, the highest waterfall in the world…
From the ‘Singing frozen lakes of Sweden’ to the drifting, sun baked desserts of the Western Sahara…
From swimming with Humpback Whales, Sharks and Dolphins, to riding Ostriches, Camels and Horses…
Needless to say, I consider myself very blessed...
My love of Nature does not stop with a fascination with the plants and animals. I love making and creating things with natural materials, especially wood, but also stone, shells and metals. I also love capturing through photography and videography beautiful natural scenes. From sunsets and sunrises, waves and clouds, rainbows and fog bows, animals, birds and insects, humming birds and butterflies, plants and trees and the world of flowers that should leave nobody in any doubt that Mother Nature is the one truly original designer, creator and artist extraordinaire that never fails to make me shake my head in wonder…
I have been equally fascinated throughout my life with human nature and trying to understand people on a deeper level. I believe that understanding the complexities of the human experience leads to much greater levels of empathy and supports the notions of equality and co-operation over the outdated notions of superiority and competition. I personally believe that it is a complex blend of someone's DNA, the nurturing they receive from their parents and family, the country and socio-economic conditions that they grow up in, their astrological influences, any religious influences they may have been exposed to, the education that they receive at school, along with the myriad of personal experiences and traumas that they experience throughout their biographical history that makes up the rich tapestry of each individual person.
I first came across Breathwork whilst I was in the midst of the Amazon rainforest and from there it has taken me on a journey that has brought my life and purpose into sharp focus and given me total confidence in continuing to follow the path that I found myself on after a near death experience when I was 26…
From that moment on I knew with total clarity that a life without total authenticity was a life wasted. Since that time I have tried my best to leave nothing unsaid to friends and family and the people that come into my life as we can never be sure that there will be another opportunity… However my quest for knowledge and purpose had only just begun.
I have always considered myself to have a strong sense of truthfulness and authenticity, however after my NDE I felt even more passionately that there was no place for pretence, dishonesty and lack of integrity in this world and I try my best to live my life by these standards.
For the next few years after the NDE I continued to try to fit in to ‘normal life’ or what some people term 'consensus reality'. I had a relatively successful plumbing and building company, I owned a house with a friend, I had fast sports cars, I had loving relationships, and I went on plenty of exotic holidays, however none of this seemed to give me the sense of happiness and contentedness that I was led to believe it would.
When I hit 30, together with a great friend of mine, I won a competition to take part in a rally from Budapest to Bamako in a Fiat Polski 126 which was an incredible adventure that opened my mind to a whole new world of possibilities. When I returned home, I knew that I couldn’t continue with my life the way it was if I was to be true to myself, so I handed over the building business to my partner to free my mind and open myself up to life and see where it would take me...
Over the next 8 years I started up a couple of other businesses, one of which was in outdoor training equipment that combined my love of functional training with the ecotherapy benefits of training outdoors immersed in nature. I did more traveling and had several relationships but again, even though I had a seemingly full life, there was this sense that there was still something missing…
My last relationship ended whilst I was in the middle of the Amazon rainforest but it was here also that my relationship with Breathwork began. This started an inner journey that has brought every aspect of my self, my life, my relationships with other people, my understanding of the planet and the entire universe into sharp relief. But more than that it has given me a sense of peaceful, loving acceptance that allows me to see the beauty in every single moment that life gives me.
It has been like finding that missing piece of the puzzle, finally understanding the last cryptic clue of a treasure hunt and discovering that I no longer have to search for answers in distant lands or at the summit of great mountains as I now know like so many before me that all knowledge and true understanding comes from within..
The other reason that Breathwork appealed to me and resonated with my own beliefs is that it is 100% natural and utilises an untapped power that we all have within these miracles that we call bodies..! There are other ways of reaching similar healing and spiritual states using drugs such as Ayahuasca, DMT, LSD, psilocybin etc but the fact that Breathwork is a totally pure system using only the remarkable power of the breath/spirit is to me the greatest indication that it is far safer and much more likely to produce long lasting benefits without the toxic hangovers associated with the other forms...
From the moment I did my first session of deep Breathwork and was guided on the first few steps of my own inner journey, I knew that it was a game changer and was a gift that could help everyone get in touch with their own unique as well as universal power.
From that pivotal moment I have immersed myself in the subject of Breathwork, the healing potential of non-ordinary states of consciousness and all other related topics. I have a great passion for not only increasing my own knowledge and understanding but also for sharing this gift with as many people that I possibly can and will continue to do so for the rest of my life…

Whether you are contemplating trying Evolution Breathwork or one of the other deep breathwork therapies, we advise you to meet up with the person who will be guiding you before your first session, as it is important that you feel totally comfortable and that you can be your authentic self in their company.
One of the roles of a guide is to create a safe and loving space, totally devoid of judgment in which the individual can travel inwards and focus totally on their journey and give this time to themselves...
Knowing something about your guide, their background, and their journey, can help you to feel comfortable about sharing your own with them, as it is a great honour to be able to share in such a profound and personal evolutionary experience...
